Welcome to
Molecular Universe
Mission
Our mission is
to crowdsource computing power
to map the entire Molecular Universe.
Discovering molecules that will lead to better batteries, more efficient electric vehicles, the true advent of the flying car, eliminating emissions from the streets and saving the health of the planet and humanity together.
Keeping the Future On
The flying car isn’t a fantasy.
It just needs a better battery.
And that begins with
better molecules.
Because, the batteries we’re using in 2024 were developed back in the 1980s. The batteries of yesterday are trying to power the world of tomorrow with old, dated technology, and we’re here to fix that.
Together, anyone with a computer, you, your neighbor, even your grandparents can chip in. Lend their computer to the cause, and save the world, even in your sleep.
We’re All Part of a
Molecular Laboratory
that Spans the Globe.

Why Molecules Matter
Molecules are everything. They are the building blocks of life, energy and technology. The more we discover, the more we can work towards a truly sustainable future.

The Facebook Equivalent
To understand Molecular Universe and how it works on a deeper level, let’s look at the past 20 years of Facebook’s evolution. If Facebook is a detailed log of humanity, then Molecular Universe will be the equivalent for molecules.
When Facebook first started in 2004, it featured super-simple, single-page profiles for Harvard students only. Then, it added other schools, non-students, friending, likes, news feeds, walls, groups, ads, etc.
And eventually, over the course of 20 years, it became the cornerstone human communication database that helped train AI models similar to OpenAI’s Chat-GPT, arguably the most successful and powerful AI to date.
AI for science doesn't have a database like Facebook to pull from, but we're changing that. Molecular Universe’s goal is to be the scientific database that AI for Science needs to help us all discover the world-changing molecules of tomorrow.
